Annual Report

Continuity marked our church’s experience during 2022. To continue seeing a vital expression of faith and love, even through the third year of the “virus era” is a reason for gratitude. Several on-going strengths of our congregation:

First, ours has been a welcoming spiritual family and a place of healing. Several have commented on the loving spirit they have found here, and on how glad they are to have found this warm and encouraging church.

Second, we try to do few things and do them well. Worship is marked by our outstanding Praise Team and is of high quality every week. Dani was ready to join us regularly when Emily moved away for her job in August, and the excellence of music and cohesion continued uninterrupted. Our team’s musical quality is matched by a heart for worship and an ever cooperative spirit.

Our beloved team headlined monthly Coffee House on second Friday evenings (whenever there were no high germ alerts or water main breaks!), always a warm and enjoyable time of fellowship and outreach as well with several coming each time from outside our membership.

Bible study / Sunday School small group stayed stimulating, enriched by studies of faith basics in 1&2 Thessalonians, followed by an examination of some of the Difficult Words of Jesus before starting our current survey of The New Testament You Never Knew featuring insights on the historical / cultural aspects of the gospel story.

Men’s Breakfast continued most monthly 3rd Saturday mornings with an exceeding high percentage of our church’s men. The menu features a hearty variety while different brothers share from their faith and experience. We never fail to leave well-filled in body and soul.

One more strength to mention is the continued exceptional opportunity of mission support, allowing us to have a hand in spreading the hope and grace of Christ in several strategic directions.

Part of what makes all this possible is the backbone of faithful servant-hearted leaders on our boards, with their willing and enduring efforts. I remain thankful through my 14th year here for the privilege to serve with you according to the Lord’s purpose for us here, as we “press on toward the goal for which God has called us heavenward in Christ Jesus.
